They are popular in some industries like banks and gaming but are being replaced by the speedier and more efficient thermal receipt printer these days. Mind you, impact printers are still widely used in restaurant kitchens due to the excess heat which doesn’t seem to affect them.

3. Inkjet Receipt Printers: This particular style of receipt printer uses links to produce better quality printing than that of impact printers. Creative businesses, advertising and promotional applications that require colorful graphics and special publications are best done on these slow but effective printers. Due to the slowness and need to change ink cartridges regularly for the various color options, inkjet printers are not the best machines for retail environments that need fast receipt print processing applications.
